Minutes
The online meeting was called to order by Deepak Khazanchi, MWAIS President at 1:03 p.m. CST. Attending were Executive Committee Members Deepak Khazanchi, Ilze Zigurs, Dan Power, Simha Magal, Matt Germonprez, and Amit Deokar. Also, guest members attending were Omar F. El-Gayar and Surendra Sarnikar from Dakota State University.
MWAIS 2008 Conference
Matt reported on extending the deadline for paper submission to March, since February deadlines were perceived to be too early.
MWAIS 2008 conference committee to begin approaching firms to participate in conference activities.
MWAIS 2009 Conference
Amit, along with Omar and Surendra, presented the budget and bid for hosting MWAIS 2009 annual meeting in Sioux Falls.
Main suggestions received were:
check alternative hotel rooms
check campus facilities for hosting meeting in Madison
check up front costs of proposed conference hotel to reduce any financial risks
DSU team (Omar, Amit, and Surendra) would explore the option of hosting the MWAIS 2009 annual meeting in Madison, SD and get back with alternative bid and budget in about a week.
Concluding Remarks
The
meeting was adjourned at 2:00 p.m. by Deepak Khazanchi. The
next meeting would
be held, on February25th from
12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST. Prior to that the group will discuss the revised MWAIS 2009 bid and budget over email and may meet, if needed.
